Welcome!!!

Thank you for accepting my invitation to be part of our team.

We are a non-profit organization Barbarians Down Under Inc. A rugby union U15 Development team from North region of Brisbane. Our team is formed by qualified and experience coaches, trainers and managers and invited players from North region. Most of our players had played at representative level and our goal is to build up their skills, explode their potential and give them the chance to move up to a higher level next year.

To reach our goal I have planned a development program that includes fitness, mental strength, nutrition and basic skills training for eleven weeks and a tour, for two weeks, to Paris on April 2010. This tour includes two matches against French sides, training sessions with high levels coaches and players and, also, our participation in the International Disneyland Junior Championship

Program’s MISION
• Develop or improve knowledge, skills and abilities of players,

• Provide training and development programs to educate players and parents regardless are their level, age, sex.

• Promote rugby union values (through participation – rugby is for all)

• Make rugby a safe, enjoyable and better experience for all participants

The program

This is an educational 12 weeks rugby union program to educate, develop U15 Brisbane North rugby union players and promote rugby union values. It is a plan based on five topics that influence on players development therefore on their performance.
The development program is focused on:

• Nutrition: Performance is also determined by what players eat.

• Fitness: Fitness for rugby is not simply being able to run all day. It is also about the unique mix of strength, power and agility required, all supported by good endurance so the players can perform strongly through the entire game.

• Basic skills & Key factors: kicking, passing, catching, running, tackling. Many players, even at professional level, have problems with the basic skills.

• Mental toughness: Rugby is 80% mental so it is vital players gain confidence through a positive approach, motivation and goal setting plan

• Laws of the game: playing the sport is not only a mater of learning the physical skills, but to know and understand the laws of the game. These facilitate the way we play and therefore our performance.
